EFFAB Director at the Global Agrifood Biotechnologies Conference

This week, EFFAB participated in the Global Agrifood Biotechnologies Conference hosted by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Rome.
Our Director, Ana Granados Chapatte, took part in the global conversation on advancing innovation in agrifood systems.

Key messages from the discussions included:

  • The importance of identifying new and better ways to empower farmers with tools adapted to their local environments, enabling them to address everyday challenges 

  • The need to combine technical innovation with social innovation to support successful adoption

  • The value of co-creation, ensuring that farmers are listened to and their needs are matched. 

  • The central role of animal breeding strategies that reduce methane emissions, enhance disease resistance and robustness, and support climate adaptation

Sustainable progress depends on collaboration and a commitment to the people at the heart of our food systems.
