11 February 2026

As part of our continued engagement in EU policy discussions, EFFAB has joined a broad coalition of organisations from across the agri‑food chain to deliver a shared message ahead of the EU Leaders’ Retreat on 12 February.

At a time of growing geopolitical and economic pressure, safeguarding Europe’s strategic strength depends on a strong, modern and forward‑looking agricultural and food sector.

The joint statement underscores the strategic importance of Europe’s agriculture and food systems and calls for a renewed focus on competitiveness, resilience and long‑term sustainability.
