Conference on Welfare of Farm Animals in the EU of 2050

On the 1st of December, our Director Ana Granados Chapatte took part at the conference on Welfare of Farm Animals in the EU of 2050 - A Pathway to the Future organised in Brussels under the Danish presidency.
Intervening as first panellist, she underscored the strategic role of animal breeders in improving animal welfare, health and sustainability:
- Genetic progress does not only enhance welfare outcomes but also contributes to the development of a more resilient and self-sufficient European livestock sector.
- Breeders can drive long-term sustainability, balancing
- welfare, health, mitigating and adapting to climate change, by applying responsible and balanced breeding standards, such as those promoted in Code EFABAR.
