EFFAB welcomes the European Parliament adoption of the report on the sustainable future for the EU livestock sector

The European Forum of Farm Animal Breeders (EFFAB) issued a statement in response to the European Parliament’s adoption of the report on how to secure a sustainable future for the EU livestock sector, in light of the need to ensure food security, farmers' resilience, and the challenges posed by animal diseases (2025/2053(INI)).

EFFAB’s strongly welcomes the Parliament’s recognition of the role of animal breeding and genetics, and outlines its views on the importance of innovation, science, and a supportive policy framework to ensure a sustainable and competitive future for European livestock systems. 

EFFAB calls on the Commission to take this important document into consideration when drafting the EU Livestock Strategy.
