EFFAB at EAAP 2026
From September 7th to 11th, the 77th EAAP Annual Meeting will take place in Hamburg, Germany.
EFFAB will be attending, contributing with two sessions:
- Session #28. FABRE TP Challenge session: Economics of genomic improvement, and its contribution to improve animal productivity while reducing environmental impact.
During this challenge session, FABRE-TP will highlight how modern breeding, genomics, phenotyping and data-driven selection can deliver more productive, resource-efficient and lower-impact livestock systems. Bringing together experts from academia, industry, breeding organisations and policy, the session will explore the economic value of genetic improvement, the incentives needed for wider uptake, and how breeding can be better recognised as a key solution for EU sustainability, food security and climate goals.
- 8 September, 14:15
- Invited speakers: G. Cartick, L. Fontanesi, G. Leroy, P. Ajayi, A. Uwizeye, N.
- Rakotovao, P. Boettcher, P. Berg, E. Labussiere, R. Baumont, L. P. Sørensen,
- R. Shi, D. Bickhart, N. Duijvesteijn.
- Session #58. From Phenomics to Practice: Phenomics, Interoperability, High dimensional data processing and On-Farm Decisions. The session will present insights and discussion from projects HoliCow, EULIPHE, and Digi4Live Horizon projects. It will focus on how phenomics and high dimensional livestock data can be made interoperable and usable in practice—what regulation enables or limits—and what this means for breeding organisations in terms of data access, new traits, benchmarking, and decision support.
