Animal Task Force announces its 2027 theme: LS2F3S

As a proud member of the Animal Task Force (ATF), EFFAB is pleased to share the theme chosen for 2027:

LS2F3S: The Role of Livestock Systems in Safeguarding Food and Feed Security, Safety and Sustainability.

Livestock systems are much more than a source of meat, milk and eggs. They help turn resources that people cannot eat into nutritious food, recycle valuable nutrients, support healthy soils and grasslands, and contribute to more resilient and sustainable food systems across Europe.

At a time when Europe is looking to strengthen food security, reduce its dependence on imported feed and adapt to climate change, livestock systems have an important role to play. Innovation and research will be key to improving animal health and welfare, making better use of resources, and helping farmers produce food in an even more sustainable way.

With the LS2F3S theme, the Animal Task Force aims to highlight how livestock contribute to a resilient European bioeconomy and why continued investment in research and innovation is essential for the future of the livestock sector.

Throughout 2027, the Animal Task Force will organise two events dedicated to this theme. We look forward to sharing more details in the coming months.
