Vision
Animal breeding and reproduction are essential parts of the animal production chain. Societal challenges, such as the growing world population, climate change, a growing awareness of the need for biodiversity, require that breeding and reproduction is carried out in a sustainable way. EFFAB plays a supportive role in ensuring that the European Union provides the perfect environment for a sustainable development of animal breeding and reproduction by promoting a proper EU and national legislation, by fostering fundamental and applied research in public and private institutions and by promoting developments in breeding and reproduction to the society. |
Mission
EFFAB supports its members by:
EFFAB supports its members by:
- Promoting the interest of members to national, EU, and international institutions and stakeholders in order to ensure that policies and legislation are policies and legislation are fostering sustainable innovation,
- Stimulating European research related to relevant technology disciplines,
- Facilitating individual members to gain the best support from European research and technology related policies, and
- Supporting members in their communication with the general public.
Strategy
- Ensure that European policies and legislation stimulate and support innovation in animal breeding and reproduction,
- Show transparency to society, e.g. via Code of Good Practice (Code EFABAR),
- Represent member interests to international bodies, associations and platforms to stimulate funding and implementation of best possible research in Europe on all disciplines relevant to animal breeding and reproduction,
- Foster close relationships between the relevant European research community and EFFAB members,
- Inform members on developments and issues relevant to the realm of EFFAB,
- Support members of EFFAB in making maximum use of the European research base and the stakeholder network developed by EFFAB activities.
