About EFFAB

EFFAB is an association of organisations and companies active in the field of animal breeding and reproduction. Members of EFFAB are involved in the genetic improvement of different farm animal species: ruminants, pigs, poultry, fish and shellfish.
 
EFFAB’s role is to support its members by creating a political and societal environment which is supportive to sustainable developments in animal breeding and reproduction.
EFFAB is a unique organisation that represents the majority of animal breeding and reproduction organisations and companies in Europe. Members are leading suppliers to European and worldwide markets. 

EFFAB informs governmental organisations, non-governmental organisations and the general public about the sector and future developments.

History in short
  • In 1995 the Farm Animal Industry Platform (FAIP) was established.
  • In 1999 FAIP became an official society.
  • In 2004 FAIP changed its name into European Forum of Farm Animal Breeders (EFFAB).
